Colombia Guadalupe El Mirador

From: 11,40

Colombia is such an unique origin for coffee, and we don’t think we will ever tire of the coffees from it. With its many micro climates and incredible growing conditions no coffee tastes the same. Sometimes they taste bright and acidic, others taste smooth and supple, and often a wonderful mix of the two. Thats exactly what we have here, a coffee grown by Stella and her family thats both jammy and sweet from red fruit flavors, yet smooth and balanced with fig and brown sugar notes.

A note from our supplier, Nordic Approach:

Finca El Mirador, located in the village of La Esperanza, Guadalupe, Colombia, sits at an altitude of 1,800 metres and spans 3.5 hectares. Owned by the Ardilla Tovar family, the farm is home to 20,000 coffee trees, primarily of the Castillo and F6 varieties. This farm has been operating for 40 years, with all family members actively involved in its day-to-day management.

The main harvest takes place between October and November, with a secondary harvest (Mitaka) from May to July. The family employs manual harvesting methods, assisted by six pickers during the season. They use traditional processes such as floating the cherries in water and fermenting the coffee in tanks, followed by drying the beans in parabolic dryers.

El Mirador is dedicated to producing high-quality coffee and has plans to invest in housing improvements to enhance living conditions on the farm.
